Updated | By Gerda de Sousa
A cold front brought some much needed rain to parts of the Western Cape last night.
Cape Town residents couldn't believe their eyes when rain drops fell on Friday night.
The Western Cape is struggling under a severe drought, with Cape Town warned it may run out of fresh water within the next 90 days.
According to the SA Weather Service, the Grabouw area received 19 mm of rain through the night, while Cape Town itself saw 4.4 mm of rain.
Residents took to social media to express their delight in seeing and hearing the rain in a city appreciating every drop falling from the sky.
