Car reverses over toddler in Cato Ridge
An 18-month-old was in a critical condition in hospital after the driver of a vehicle reversed over the child in a driveway of a property in Kwa Ximba in Cato Ridge, near Pietermaritzburg on Monday, the ER24 paramedic service said.
The baby was taken to a nearby clinic shortly after the incident, the paramedic service said.
“Upon arrival at the clinic, paramedics found nurses attending to the baby. Upon assessment it was found that the child sustained severe injuries.”
Paramedics called in the assistance of a helicopter to airlift the baby to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
The details around the incident were not yet known.
