Case against 'Jub Jub' postponed to December

The case against rapper and television personality Molemo 'Jub Jub' Maarohanye has been postponed to December.
Maarohanye, who is popularly known as 'Jub Jub', appeared briefly in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
He is facing three counts of rape, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of assault relating to incidents that allegedly took place in 2006 and 2009.
One of the charges was opened after he made a comment about his ex-girlfriend, actress Amanda du-Pont, on the popular podcast ‘Podcast and Chill with MacG’ in 2021.
Responding to Maarohanye's comments, Du-Pont told her followers through a video on social media platform Instagram that she was raped and physically abused by Maarohanye while they were dating.
Following her video, more women came forward.
The Uyajola 9/9 presenter handed himself over at Brixton police station in July after a warrant of arrest was issued against him.
This was after Du-Pont and others opened a case against him.
He has since pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
He was granted R10 000 bail in July, and it has since been extended until the next court appearance.
The case was postponed after the defence requested further particulars from the State.
