Case of cholera confirmed in Limpopo
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The department of health in Limpopo has confirmed a case of cholera in Alldays, in the Blouburg area.

Spokesperson for the department, Neil Shikwambana, says a migrant farm worker from Zimbabwe who works in the Alldays area, is suspected to have contracted the disease while in our neighbouring country.
Shikwambana adds the migrant worker visited Zimbabwe two weeks ago and showed symptoms of acute watery diarrhoea and vomiting shortly after returning to South Africa.
Shikwambana says this is the only case confirmed, however officials are cautious after an outbreak in Zimbabwe.
"Because there was an outbreak of cholera a few weeks back in Zimbabwe where a lot of people died," says Shikwambana.
He adds the provincial department has activated the District Outbreak Response Team.
The patient is currently in a stable condition in hospital, according to the department.
