Case of couple killed outside Randburg court postponed to April

The case against four police officers accused of torturing a woman in 2018 has been postponed to April in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court.
The case returned to court on Thursday.
The case relates to a complainant and a witness who were killed in an apparent hit outside the court earlier this month.
The National Prosecuting Authority had confirmed that the man and woman who were shot and killed while walking towards the court gate were witnesses in a 2018 assault case against four police officers.
It’s alleged deceased woman, a domestic worker, had accused the officers of torturing her while they were investigating a burglary at her employer’s home.
The officers were labelled persons of interest in the murder case - and following an urgent application by the state.
Magistrate Godwin Sadike ruled that police officers must be tested for gun powder residue, among others.
