Case withdrawn against teen for alleged murder

The state has provisionally withdrawn the case against a 15-year old high school learner accused of killing his classmate in Sebokeng.
The pupil was stabbed to death at the Thuto-Tiro Comprehensive School in Sebokeng, south of Johannesburg, on Monday.

Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Steve Mabona says the victim was stabbed to death by a fellow pupil - using a pair of scissors.

Mabona says both pupils are in Grade 9.
School principal Jeff Khumalo says the two were playing when one pupil stabbed the other in the chest.
National Prosecuting Authority's (NPA) for Gauteng Phindi Mjondonwane says the matter was not placed on the roll due to insufficient evidence.
"The NPA has given instructions of investigations that must be done. Upon conclusion of such investigations, the docket will then be brought back to the NPA for a decision."
