The case against Deputy President Paul Mashatile’s eight VIP cops resumed in the Randburg Magistrate Court on Monday for pretrial proceedings.
The eight officers were caught on camera attacking motorists on the N1 in Johannesburg in July 2023.
They face various charges, including assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property, defeating the ends of justice and intimidation.
All eight have pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against them.
The presiding magistrate has prohibited the media from reporting or broadcasting witness testimonies until the trial ends.
The first witness in the case took a stand on Monday.
