Cele, Masemola to conduct inspection ahead of Zulu King certificate handover

Police Minister Bheki Cele and National Commissioner Fannie Masemola will on Friday conduct a safety inspection at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban.

The inspection comes ahead of the handing over of the certificate of recognition to AmaZulu King MisuZulu ka Zwelithini.
Cele and Masemola will receive a safety operational plan put in place by the South African Police Service to safeguard the event.
More than 48,000 guests are expected to attend the ceremony.
“The certificate handover ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 29 October 2022, and is expected to be attended by over 48 thousand VIPs, monarchs, dignitaries, and guests,” said Cele’s spokesperson Lirandzu Themba.
At the same time, the eThekwini municipality has said preparations are in full swing ahead of the ceremony.
Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda led a delegation of Exco members to Nongoma to visit the King and deliver a comprehensive report on Saturday's event.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will hand over the kingship certificate of recognition to his majesty.
