Cele: Precious Ramabulana suspect ‘assisting police’
Police Minister Bheki Cele says the suspect linked to the killing of Limpopo student Precious Ramabulana is assisting the police with their investigations.
Cele addressed the National Press Club in Centurion on Thursday.
Limpopo police announced earlier in the morning that a suspect had been arrested for Ramabulana’s brutal murder.
The 21-year-old student at Capricorn TVET College died after being stabbed 52 times in her rented room at the weekend.
Cele said the suspect, who hails from the area, was found in possession of Ramabulana's cell phone.
He added that the two weren’t in a relationship, that he was not a student and might be someone who was not known to her.
The minister says the police are still trying to establish the motive for the killing.
