Cele on Tshegofatso murder: We have a name and surname
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Police Minister Bheki Cele has indicated that the arrest of a suspect for the gruesome killing of 28-year-old Tshegofatso Pule is imminent.
“Nobody has been picked up. But we know who we are wanting now. We have the name and the surname, and maybe very soon that person will be picked up. So, we are following clues on that [matter],” Cele said.
The 28-year-old, who was eight months pregnant, was found hanging from a tree in Roodepoort this week with multiple stab wounds.
Her family did not want to confirm whether her boyfriend is a person of interest in the matter after Pule was last seen with him.
Cele was speaking in Soweto on Saturday.
He confirmed that a suspect has been arrested for another horrific murder of a woman from Dobsonville.
Her body was found under a tree.
A man has been arrested after the bodies of a 27-year-old woman and a 7-year-old child were discovered in Belhar on the Cape Flats.
Cele says crimes against women and children have been escalated to the respective provincial police commissioners.
