Minter Bheki Cele has urged South Africans not to hesitate in reporting
corrupt police officials to their
collegues.
Cele spoke in Chatsworth near Durban on Friday after vowing two weeks ago to return to the community and answer their queries in crime in the area.
The meeting followed the death of 9-year-old Sadia Sukhraj who was killed during a botched hijacking last month.
Cele said police in the area told him they are twelve police vehicles short.
He promised the community that he will add an additional 11 vehicles to the police’s fleet,.
The minister also urged the community to report on any corrupt individual in the police force.
“If there are any rotten members in the South African Police Service that are rotten please bring them to us.”
Cele said he wants the police service to be an organisation of excellence.
