Central African Republic President Michel Djotodia has resigned, a regional grouping announced Friday.

Central African Republic President Michel Djotodia has resigned, a regional grouping announced Friday, after intense pressure over his failure to stem deadly sectarian violence.
The leaders of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) "noted the resignation" of Djotodia and Prime Minister. Nicolas Tiengaye, said the statement from neighbouring Chad.
