Sydenham police have met with with angry community members from Durban's Burnwood informal settlement following a protest in the area this morning - that saw several major routes blocked to traffic.

Community members are upset over a shooting incident - in which a known suspect allegedly attacked a sleeping couple.
Angry protesters barricaded parts of R.D. Naidu Drive at the Randles Road intersection saying they want the alleged assailant to leave the area.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says the couple had been sleeping in their home at the Burnwood informal settlement when they were shot - allegedly by the suspect.
Mbhele says another resident was also grazed by a bullet. She says the injured have been taken to hospital.
The protesters blocked the road with burning tyres and branches while two police vehicles were also stoned.
Mbhele says the suspect is still at large. Police are monitoring the situation in the area.
