Child porn suspect denied bail
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile

SAPS national spokesperson Solomon Makgale says the security guard was arrested on Tuesday as part of a global investigation.
“The investigation was initiated by Homeland Security Investigations, Special Agents from Anchorage, Alaska in the US. They traced the suspect via a website which was used as a platform to share child pornography,” he says.
Makgale says police seized three cell phones, a number of documents and 23 DVD/CD’s at his home.
The suspect has written a confession leading police to three of his victims. Police have however identified seven victims in South Africa, five boys and two girls aged between 5 and 11 years.
One of the victims has given a statement where he says the suspected exposed him to adult and child pornography, groomed him and sexually assaulted him.
Makgale says police are pursuing 50 more suspects involved in child pornography and are warning parents to ensure their children are not using social media where they can be lured into child porn.
