Child stable after near-drowning in JHB
Updated | By ANA
An eight-year-old girl was successfully resuscitated on Sunday afternoon after a near-drowning incident at a home in Glenvista, south of Johannesburg.

ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said paramedics responded to the hospital were the child was brought in privately.
“On assessment, paramedics and doctors found that the child showed no signs of life. Emergency staff immediately began CPR [cardiopulmonary resuscitation] and advanced life support intervention. After a short period of treatment, the child’s vital signs returned,” he said.
The girl was stabilised in hospital and thereafter transported by ER24 paramedics to Baragwanath Hospital for further treatment, Meiring said.
