China slams US for report into Covid-19 origins

China has slammed the United States for its report into the origins of Covid-19, claiming US politicians are obsessed with stigmatising Covid-19 with certain countries.
Chinese Ambassador Chen Xiaodong held a virtual media conference on Monday on China’s position on the origins of Covid-19.
“Some US politicians are obsessed with stigmatising the virus by associating it with certain countries and places. This move does nothing but politicise Covid-19 origins.
“We have nothing to hide. The Chinese twice invited the WHO in July last year and March this year for origin tracing in China and we fully supported the WHO expert teams work. During the trips the Chinese side made every effort to organise and coordinate among relevant departments to meet the requirements of the WHO experts during their visit.”

The comments by China come after U.S President Joe Biden’s criticism of the country over its lack of transparency on the origins of the virus.
An investigation into the origins of Covid-19 returned as “inconclusive” following a split decision between intellignce agencies.
This is after findings could not reveal whether the virus was a laboratory accident or a result of human contact with an infected animal.
