Cholera confirmed in North West
Updated | By Emile Pienaar
Health authorities have confirmed that cholera has spread to a third province, with two cases confirmed in the North West province.

The province has confirmed two cholera cases in Madibeng and Morelete respectively.
The disease has already claimed the lives of at least 23 people in Hammanskraal, north of Tshwane.
Lekgethwane says the patients presented with symptoms that included vomiting and diarrhoea.
"These cases come at a point where we expected that we could have cases in those areas of Madibeng and Morelete because they are of the proximity to Hammanskraal where a lot of cases are."
"The department urges the public not to panic as cholera is preventable and curable. All people who experience Cholera symptoms, with or without local or international travel history are advised to visit their nearest health facility."
