Close to 50 injured in gas explosion
Approximately 50 people were injured in a suspected chemical
gas explosion at a business on Industry Street in Olifantsfontein near Midrand
on Friday morning.
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, says none of the patients suffered severe injuries.
He added there were no fatalities on the scene.
"The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported by various services to nearby hospitals for further care," says Meiring.
Meiring says details surrounding this incident are not yet known.
