Drugs worth more than R85 million have been seized at the Port Elizabeth harbour.

85 kilograms of cocaine were seized by police at the Ngqura Port in Port Elizabeth at the weekend.
The vessel arrived from Ecuador and was destined for Cape Town.
An intelligence-driven operation led custom officials and officers to the shipment of two containers.
The containers transported cartons of bananas but upon further inspection, a hidden compartment was discovered.
The drugs were hidden in the panel of a refrigerator.
“A total of 85 bricks with an approximate weight of 85 kilograms and an estimated street value of R85 million were seized,” says police spokesperson Katlego Mogale.
