Cold front, rain to hit Cape Town until Friday
Updated | By AFP
The South African Weather Service has warned of another cold front to hit Cape Town.

The weather service says rainfall is expected in Cape Town Metro, Theewaterskloof and the western parts of Cape Winelands.
Western Cape’s Environmental Affairs spokesperson James-Brent Styan says the cold storm is expected to last until Friday.
“The next major winter storm is expected to make a landfall this evening and expected to continue throughout tomorrow.
“The rain is expected to occur on Thursday morning into the afternoon with thunder showers expected this Friday,” says Styan.
“We are also concerned about the likelihood for mudslide, rock falls, and soil erosion particularly around the Cape Town Table mountain area following the recent wildfire that took a lot of vegetation.”
Motorists and pedestrian are urged to be vigilant as the storm is sweeping most of the areas in the city.
Styan added that there are measures in place to avert the storm.
“All the municipalities in the Western Cape including the City of Cape Town, have standard operating procedures and contingency plans in place to address incidents in their areas during major storms.
“These plans include emergency response, providing relief and arranging temporary shelter for affected communities if needed.”
