Comair need investment or face going bust soon, warns Numsa

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) met with Comair management on Tuesday to discuss the cash-strapped company's future.
Comair, which operates Kulula and British Airways in South Africa, recently grounded its fleet due to a lack of funding.
Numsa spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola said Comair admitted to being in a dire financial state and for the need to secure an investor as soon as possible.
"We were told that if they don't find an investor in the next couple of weeks, they will have to wind the airline down."
Hlubi-Majola says the union will contact the Department of Labour to help with a training layoff scheme for the staff.
"The only way it will work is if the business rescue practitioners cooperate with us, they will also have to submit an audited financial statement because one cannot access the scheme without an audited financial statement and they have committed to that."
