Combat the stigma of HIV/Aids
Updated | By Neo Leeuw
It is important to continue combating the stigma of HIV/Aids, the Economic Freedom Fighters said on World Aids Day on Sunday.

"We must at all times de-stigmatise the idea that one is filthy/condemned when they have the virus, because people contract HIV/Aids under different [circumstances]," EFF spokesman Mbuyiseni Ndlozi in a statement.
"The stigma on HIV/Aids is among...[the] contributing factors to people not finding help on time and fearing to know their status."
The EFF said it was important to know one's status.
"A fighter is not a fighter unless they know their status," said Ndlozi.
"Knowing your status is critical to combating Aids as one can be put on treatment before complete deterioration. All fighters are therefore called upon to test and know their status."
