Community shocked by gruesome suicide, attempted murder case
Updated | By ANA
Police are investigating a case of suicide and attempted murder in Motherwell.
A community member was feeding his pig on Thursday when he saw the body of a 35-year-old man hanging from an electricity pylon, said Eastern Cape police spokesperson Warrant Officer Dumile Gwavu.
“There was no suicide note that could be found.”
Another community member was able to lead police to the man’s address, he said.
“The house was locked with a padlock and the police opened the front window and saw a 26-year-old woman lying on the bed. The police managed to open the door from inside and found the woman severely injured on her face but she was still alive”.
The victim was taken to the Livingstone hospital.
