ConCourt to rule on Zuma impeachment
Updated | By Amo Maledu
The Constitutional Court will decide on the possible
impeachment of President Jacob Zuma on Friday.

Judgement was reserved in September after the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Congress of the People (Cope) and the United Democratic Movement (UDM) bought the matter to he highest court in the land.
The opposition parties approached the court arguing that Zuma broke his oath of office after the Constitutional Court ruling on Nkandla.
They said there was no doubt that there was prima facie evidence for impeachment proceedings to be instituted against Zuma.

In March 2016 the Constitutional Court found that Zuma failed to uphold, defend and respect the Constitution after failure to adhere to former Public Protector's remedial action, which amongst others ordered that Zuma pay back some of the money spent on his Nkandla homestead in Kwa Zulu-Natal.
The Nkandla report found that more R200 million of public funds were spent in the upgrading of the rural homestead.
