Controversial Nigerian pastor appears in court
Updated | By AlgoaFM News
A controversial Nigerian pastor has made his first appearance in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on charges of human trafficking and sexual violence on Friday.

The pastor, who is based in Durban, was arrested by the Hawks at the Port Elizabeth airport on Thursday.
He allegedly sexually assaulted several underage girls.
The pastor's attorney, Alwyn Griebenow, told the court that his client's arrest was premature as the state was not in a position to verify his personal circumstances.
The state said it was not in a position to go ahead with the bail hearing, but Griebenow said the bail application was urgent and asked the court that it be heard next week.

The matter has been postponed to 3 May for a formal bail application.
