COPE: Ramaphosa and his cabinet should pay for their own fuel
Updated | By Thabo Tshabalala
The Congress of the People (COPE) has called on President Cyril Ramaphosa and his whole cabinet to start paying out of their own pockets when they will up their government vehicles.
This comes after one of the sharpest fuel increases from Midnight on Tuesday.
Petrol shot up by R1,34 a liter and diesel increased between 81 and 82 cents a liter for the month of April.
Cope's Dennis Bloem says the party believes that government will only be able to comprehend the tough times consumers are experiencing, once they pay their own fuel accounts.

"Congress of the People has said many times that this Government has failed our country and is incapable of running the affairs of South Africa.
"Our country's economy is destroyed by this incapable group of greedy thugs who their only mission is to loot our country's resources," Bloem said.
Bloem added that it's clear that the government does not care about the negative impact the latest fuel increases will have on motorists.
"It is very clear that this government does not care about the negative impact and consequences of these increases, not only motorists that will be hard hit in their pockets but also the rich and the poor, even worse the entire economy will feel the devastating impact of the fuel increases."
