Cops, security officers held hostage in Moreleta Park
Two police officers and
security guards are being held hostage at a residential complex in Moreleta
Park in the east of Pretoria, police have confirmed.
The officers are being held hostage by an unknown man.
Roads surrounding the Meadows Security Estate have been cordoned off, as the police's task force proceed with hostage negotiations.
Sunnyside police spokesperson Dave Miller would not elaborate on any injuries or fatalities, with earlier reports suggesting two people had been shot.
Scores of bystanders have gathered in the neighbouring streets.
