Cosatu calls for Minister Zwane's head
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
Cosatu has called on President Jacob Zuma to axe Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane.

The trade union federation has described Zwane as a weak and polarising minister.
Zwane was one of the central figures implicated in the State of Capture report by former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.
Briefing the media on their Central Executive Committee meeting (CEC), Cosatu came out in full support of a judicial commission of inquiry on state capture, to get to the bottom of the Gupta family's relationship with senior government officials.

Cosatu's General Secretary Bheki Ntshalitshali also says Zwane has failed to perform his duties.
"The meeting has submitted a vote of no confidence on the minister of Mineral Resources, Mosebenzi Zwane as a minister in the sector. He is a weak and a polarising figure that has failed to deal with the biggest issues like retrenchments, illegal mining and the ongoing violence. His collusion with other unions to isolate and attack the NUM was the last straw for the CEC. We are calling for him to step aside or to be dismissed," says Ntshalitshali.
