Couple spends millions mistakenly deposited into their account
Updated | By Sli Masikane
A couple from Mpumalanga is facing charges of theft after they blew millions of rands mistakenly deposited into their account by a Mpumalanga municipality.

The Dr JS Moroka Municipality mistakenly deposited R10.6 million into their bank account, instead of the R1.6 million owed for construction services.
But instead of reporting the error, the couple went on a spending spree. In total, the couple spent R9 million.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says the couple will now face the full might of the law.
"The couple was given a tender of R1.6 million from the municipality and were mistakenly paid an amount of R10.6 million," says the NPA's Monica Nyuswa.
The couple will appear in court again on November 9.
