Tharina Human, Laetitia Nel and Pieter Van Zyl appeared in the Vanderbjilpark Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The trio are facing charges of kidnapping and extortion.

During the court proceedings, state prosecutor Luanda Ngcobo, who earlier had a conversation with the victim's mother, told the court Amy'Leigh de Jager is traumatised following the kidnapping and too scared to go to school.

De Jager said she often asks her parents if she won’t be kidnapped again.

The court also heard that, based on the doctor's findings, the 6-year-old is suffering from stomach ulcers following the kidnapping ordeal.

The state is opposing the granting of bail.

The six-year-old was grabbed outside Kollegepark Primary School in September and returned to her family 24 hours later.
