The department’s former CFO Patrick Gillingham, former boss Linda Mti and Bosasa CFO Andries van Tonder briefly appeared in court on Friday morning.

The fourth accused, former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi, has been hospitalised and could not appear in court.

Investigating Directorate spokesperson Sindisiwe Twala says the matter was postponed to allow for the full disclosure of the case docket.

The matter will now be heard on November 26.

“The case was postponed in Agrizzis’ absentia, the court was notified that he has been admitted to the hospital.

“They all face charges of fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud, corruption, and money laundering. Charges are in connection with four tenders awarded to Bosasa and its subsidiaries valued at over R1.8 billion, between August 2004 up to 2007,” she adds.

Agrizzi, who was denied bail by the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court in a fraud and corruption case involving former African National Congress MP Vincent Smith on Wednesday, was moved from prison to hospital on Thursday. He was moved after his health deteriorated. Agrizzi's lawyer Daniel Witz says his client was in a stable condition through the night.

Earlier this week Agrizzi was denied bail after he appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on fraud and corruption charges.

Agrizzi was then moved from a Johannesburg prison to hospital after his health deteriorated overnight.

He has since applied for a motion to appeal the ruling.
