Court postpones Malema, Ndlozi assault case
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The assault case against Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader Julius Malema has been postponed until October.

Malema, alongside EFF Member of Parliament Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, briefly appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning.
The pair are accused of assaulting a police officer during the funeral of struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela in 2018.
The warrant of arrest, issued after the duo failed to appear in court last time, was cancelled.

They are out on warning.
Speaking outside court, Malema said he believes the appearance during a pandemic was irresponsible.
"I still think it was unnecessary for us to come today because we are going through a pandemic as a country and therefore court that requests us to appear without a trail is risking our lives and the lives of other people.
"As public figures, a lot of people will want to interact with us and we don't know who is in a good state or not," Malema said.
The case has been postponed to 13 and 28 October.
