The court handed down judgment on Tuesday.

The group applied to the court to nullify the recent ANC provincial conference in Rustenburg, claiming that they were removed from the first and second leg of the conference.

They told the court that there were delegates who were not on the list which substituted them.

The ANC in North West welcomed the ruling, saying it hopes the matter has now been put to bed ahead of the national conference in December.

“The ANC views the conclusion of this matter as an opportunity for the movement, to focus all its energies on the implementation of our manifesto and the renewal project of the ANC,” said provincial secretary Louis Diremelo.

“We have said it before, that this is a mere tactic to distract the organisation from implementing its program of action and the mandate given by the provincial conference.”

Diremelo added: “The ANC reiterates to its membership populace, to make it a norm to exhaust internal processes provided for by the ANC constitution before resorting to the courts.“
