The Department of Health on Wednesday reported 7 new Covid-19 related deaths in South Africa.
The death toll now sits at 34.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize revealed the latest fatalities during a joint briefing with the country’s two soccer giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, as well as Multichoice in Randburg.
“We have actually been looking back on a number of deaths that have not been reported in the last few days, because there has been a need for us to go thoroughly into investigating,” said Mkhize.
“Most of them are people that have had underlying diseases.”
