Covid-19 deaths surpass 16 000

Covid-19 related deaths in South Africa have breached the 16 000 mark.
Statistics released by Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize show that the country has recorded an additional 126 more Covid-19 related deaths.
This brings the Covid-19 death toll to 16 118.

A further 1 346 new cases have been identified.
The number of people who have been infected with Covid-19 in the country now stands at 663 282.
South Africa’s recovery rate remains firmly at 89.4%.
