COVID-19 kills five more people in SA

The Minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize, has confirmed five more deaths due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which brings the total to 18 lives lost in South Africa.

The Health ministry said in a statement released last night that there has been an increase in testing for the coronavirus by 5 678 - which amounts to 63 776 South Africans having been tested for COVID-19.

 

The number of positive cases in the country has increased by another 96 cases, to 1845.

 

Gauteng still leads the number of infections by 782, followed by the Western Cape at 492 and KwaZulu-Natal with 354 cases.
