Covid-19 positivity rate dips below 10%

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says 1,004 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded over the past 24 hours.

A further 16 Covid-19 related deaths have also been reported, bringing the total number of fatalities to 101,162.


The positivity rate stands at 9.4% - which is not far off the recommended 5% which indicates the disease is under control.  


Gauteng still accounts for most new cases (33%), followed by KwaZulu-Natal provinces (18%) and the Western Cape (17%)
