#Covid19SA: 400+ prisoners have the virus

The Department of Correctional Services says the number of inmates with Covid-19 has increased to 419.

The total number of infections stood at 605 on Monday, including 186 officials.
The department's Singabakho Nxumalo says 118 people have recovered from the virus.
"The Western Cape and Eastern Cape regions are receiving heightened surveillance due to a high number of cases.
"This can also be explained by today's (Monday) confirmation of an increment of 24 cases of inmates in the Western Cape."
The total breakdown of Covid-19 cases at DCS is as follows:
