Crash closes Daspoort Tunnel in Tshwane
The Tshwane metro police closed the Daspoort Tunnel in Pretoria West on Wednesday morning due a crash involving two cars.
The tunnel was expected to remain closed for about an hour.
Two vehicles collided inside the tunnel at around 8:30 in the morning - leaving one person seriously injured.
Spokesperson Isaac Mahamba says emergency services are on the scene.
The streets that are closed include Transoranje and Louise Street.
Metro police spokesperson Isaac Mahamba urged motorists to use alternative routes.
“From thenNorth travelling to the west – E’skia Mphahlele Drive and join the N4 or WF Nkomo Street. To the north – N4 and pass Trans Orange Road into Vom Hagen Street until E’skia Mphahlele Drive or WF Nkomo Street eastbound.
