Cronin: ANC has failed to provide leadership
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
The South African Communist Party deputy General Secretary, Jeremy Cronin, says the National Executive Committee of the ANC has failed to provide leadership.
Speaking at a press conference after the SACP's Annual Augmented Central Committee meeting, Cronin says the NEC is split in half and it has spilled over to cabinet.
"None of us know that the end-game is and we are in a very fluid situation. There is a kind of arrogance as well as evidence of a parallel state," Cronin says.
He added that there has been a growing number of people from within the ANC alliance who has spoken out about this matter.
"Some cabinet ministers seem to be operating outside any sense of discipline to cabinet and this is deeply worrying," he says.
