DA coy on Zille presence at manifesto launch

The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it expects at least 20 000 people to attend its election manifesto launch.
The party addressed the media on Friday on its readiness for Saturday’s manifesto launch at the Rand Stadium in Johannesburg.
DA leader Mmusi Maimane will deliver the keynote address.
However the party could not immediately say if former leader, and premier of the Western Cape Helen Zille, will also be given an opportunity to address supporters.
“This is the manifesto of the DA, it is an open invitation to all members of the DA. Helen Zille is a member of DA so that invitation is for every member of the DA to come to the event for those who are able to come. So there is no extraordinary measures about certain individuals and their presence. It’s open to each and every member of the DA,” said the party’s national spokesperson Solly Malatsi.
The program will officially kick off at 10:00.
Malatsi said there will only be one message to supporters.
‘There is only one message tomorrow and that is: The DA is the only party that can bring real change that builds one South Africa for all and that has been the primary focus of our campaign leading up to today.”
