DA to lay criminal charges against EFF leaders in VBS saga
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The Democratic Alliance (DA) will on Thursday lay criminal
chargers with the Cape Town police against the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

The party says the charges are aimed against EFF leader, Julius Malema, his deputy, Floyd Shivambu, and other senior members of the party.
This comes after reports that the EFF allegedly syphoned over R1.8 million from the now liquidated VBS Mutual Bank.
The DA’s Marshall Freder says the party is of the view that the looting of the bank has led to unsuspecting, vulnerable clients losing their life savings.
"The looting of the bank has had serious implications on the provision of services in many municipalities," says Freder.
Earlier in the month, the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria ordered the final liquidation of VBS Mutual Bank.
This follows the release of the explosive forensic report into VBS bank by Advocate Terry Motau titled "The Great Bank Heist."
The report revealed how 52 individuals looted almost R2 billion from the bank.
She adds the DA’s Kevin Mileham and the party’s National Spokesperson, Solly Malatsi will lay the charges at 1 pm in Cape Town.
On numerous occasions the EFF leader, Malema has denied receiving funds from the bank.
