Hundreds of Democratic Alliance (DA) supporters are making their way to the Department of Social Development in Pretoria amid the ongoing uncertainty over social grant payments.
The department and the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) have not entered into an agreement with any service providers to pay social grants to 17 million beneficiaries from 1 April 2017.
Several parties are calling for Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini to be fired, while the Constitutional Court is demanding answers on how the situation will be addressed.
Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has since given the assurance that the matter is being addressed at the highest level of government.
Slindelo Masikane is at the march.
