DA panel hears Kohler-Barnard’s expulsion appeal
Updated | By ANA
A five member panel of the Democratic Alliance adjourned the appeal of MP Dianne Kohler-Barnard against her expulsion from the party on Tuesday to deliberate.
Chairperson of the DA’s Federal Legal Commission Glynnis Breytenbach said an outcome was expected later on Tuesday after the panel heard submissions from both sides.
The panel is being chaired by Werner Horn. The other panel members are Benedicta van Minnen, Michael Bagraim, Solly Malatsi and Brett Herron.
Kohler-Barnard was expelled from the party in October after pleading guilty to misconduct, bringing the party into disrepute and transgressing the DA’s social media policy.
In September, she shared a facebook post in which the author said public services were better under apartheid-era president PW Botha. – African News Agency (ANA)
