DA to report Shivambu to ethics committee
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
The Democratic Alliance (DA) will report Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president Floyd Shivambu to parliament’s ethics committee amid reports that the VBS loot might have financed his wedding.
The DA was responding to claims that Shivambu received donations from the now defunct VBS Mutual Bank - via a company called Grand Azania – between 2017 and 2018.
The Daily Maverick reported that Grand Azania paid over half a million rand towards Shivambu’s wedding celebrations in April 2017.

The DA’s chief whip John Steenhuisen says, should the report prove to be true, it would mean Shivambu failed to declare the payments as required by the rules of parliament.
“The DA has noted with great concern revelations that emerged in recent weeks about Mr Shivambu and his implications around the Grand Azania company and how it has allegedly been funding his lifestyle.”
