DA: Service delivery to continue amid Tshwane mayoral impasse
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The Democratic Alliance (DA) has assured Tshwane residents that service delivery will continue uninterrupted amid the mayoral impasse in the city.

The party’s Gauteng leader John Moodey addressed the media after the collapse of the council meeting meant to elect a successor to Stevens Mokgalapa.
The sitting collapsed after the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the African National Congress (ANC) staged a walkout.
"Services will not be disrupted,” Moodey said.
“All that happens is that there is no executive but the acting city manager takes over the responsibility. In the absence of the city manager the next person falls in the chief operating officer falls in.”
The EFF and the ANC staged a walkout after council speaker Katlego Mathebe refused to heed their demand that she resign with immediate effect.
Both parties accused Mathebe of misconduct and that she has abused her position as the speaker of council.
The collapse of council has increased the chances of the City of Tshwane being placed under administration by MEC of Human Settlemetns and Co-operative governance, Lebogang Maile.
In a statement released on Thursday, Maile called for "cool heads" in resolving the impasse.
