DA: Zuma continues to use taxpayers' money for court cases
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
The Democratic Alliance (DA) claims that former President Jacob Zuma is still using taxpayers' money to fund his legal battles.

This comes as a reaction to Zuma's application to the Supreme Court of Appeal to overturn the ruling in the North Gauteng High Court in 2018, that he is obliged to pay back R16 million rand spent by the state in legal costs.
The former president was ordered to pay this amount after facing alleged Arms Deal corruption charges.

DA Federal Executive Chairperson, James Selfe, claims they have been relentless in attempting to get Zuma to pay back the money.
"Every letigant in South Africa has the right to pursue his or her right in the court."
"What is happening in this case is that Jacob Zuma continues to use taxpayers' money to fund his legal challenges which is the very evil we were trying to stop," says Selfe.
