Day 2 of Matric practical exams less affected by load shedding: GDE

The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) says the second day of matric exam practicals was less affected by load shedding than the first.

On Wednesday, Stage 2 load shedding was unexpectedly introduced and severely impacted the Computer Application Technology exam.

Mabona says Thursday was less problematic and the exam went "very well."
We had some few glitches but we can confirm that out of the 1224 candidates, only 9 candidates could not write," says Mabona.
He says the focus now shifts to the main exams with the first paper to be written by all students, English, scheduled for 23 October.
"It's a big paper," he says. "To learners: focus, it's the last push."
