De Lille to launch new political party
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Former Cape Town mayor Patricia De Lille announced on Sunday that she will launch
a new political party to contest the 2019 elections.
Sunday’s announcement came two weeks after her resignation and the setting aside of a damning internal report by the Western Cape High Court.
De Lille said she will unveil the name, brand and party policies ahead of party's official launch in January.
"I really have got enough energy left. It is time for a new political order in South Africa.
"I am inviting all South Africans who are in search for something new, who want to disrupt the current politics. I am calling for you to do something good and join me," she added.
