Deaths of 4 Nyanga children a lesson for Western Cape govt - Zizi Kodwa
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
Deputy Minister of State Security Zizi Kodwa says the death of four children on the N2 Borcherds Quarry intersection near Nyanga in Cape Town must be a lesson for the Western Cape government.
The children's bodies were retrieved on Monday.
They died after the sand under the bridge caved in as they were playing.
"The passing so tragically of children from this area must be a lesson to the municipality and government of the Western Cape. If there was a park in the area this would not be this incident.

"It is important that there is a children's park in an area that is formalised, so that children do not have to cross dangerous roads, play in open graves and holes. This incident must be a lesson that no child must die because there are no space to play," said Kodwa.
